American Jet Center Establishes New West Coast Location at Scappoose Airport

Scappoose, OR, June 18, 2025 – The Port of Columbia County and American Jet Center are proud to announce the opening of American Jet Center’s newest operational base at Scappoose Airport (SPB), marking a significant expansion of the company’s aviation transportation division.   

Headquartered in Chino, California, American Jet Center has divisions in aircraft management, maintenance, and specialized aviation services, including lifesaving-transportation services. The new Scappoose facility will serve as the company’s West Coast base, eventually supporting 24/7 operations to ensure critical flights are available whenever and wherever they are needed. 

“Expanding our operations to Scappoose allows us to better serve the needs of the West Coast,” said Denis Oliver, owner of American Jet Center. “We look forward to being part of the Columbia County community and contributing to the region’s growing aviation sector.” 

The establishment of this base will bring approximately 20 new jobs to Columbia County, with roles spanning operations, maintenance, and administrative support. American Jet Center’s commitment to operational excellence and community partnership aligns with the Port of Columbia County’s mission to foster economic growth and support vital infrastructure for the region. American Jet Center will work with local stakeholders at the Columbia County Small Business Development Center, Columbia Economic Team, NW Education Service District, NW Oregon Works, Equis Workforce Solutions, Business Oregon, Portland Community College to recruit the talent they need.

Scappoose Airport, owned and managed by the Port of Columbia County, is the largest airport in Columbia County and the second busiest non-towered general aviation airport in Oregon, with 60,000 operations annually. Its strategic location and modern facilities make it an ideal hub for American Jet Center’s specialized services.
